As an educator, I am privileged to train and develop a great number of budding makeup artists, and helping to perfect the skills of existing artists, too.
As part of my commitment to this, my team and I established the Lubna Rafiq Agency – quite simply, an agency focussed on sourcing the very best Expert Senior Artists for our clients’ specific requirements – delivering the same high standards of customer service and outstanding quality that has made the Lubna Rafiq brand a household name.
Whilst I personally continue to provide makeup artistry services to brides, celebrities and many other clients, there is only one me, and with so much demand, it was my duty to share this work with my very best graduates over the past 8 years.
You can see a selection of work created by some of my Senior Artists below, as featured on pages 240 to 248 of Asian Bride Issue 36.
So here it is, the unveiling of a selection of my most treasured Senior Artists, I present to you the Lubna Rafiq Agency… Let’s Make-Up! (click on each image to enlarge with captions)
- Sultry Siren by Razna Khatun. Playful yet unabashed, this is a daring look reserved for the bride well versed in the ability to intertwine female empowerment with feminine wonderment.
- Lady Grace by Nazmeen Akhtar. The magic of make-up lies in the ability to breath both a measured dignity and a wild passion into the same look. This bride is as modest and she is unbridled.
- Natural Beauty by Ismat Shahawar. When the outfit itself is as radiant as the gemstones that adorn it, it’s important to keep the make- up as natural as possible. This bride is the epitome of an untarnished treasure.
- Miss Mystique by Rubina Javid. The most important thing a bride wants from her make-up artist is to be given eyes that reveal a story shaded with intrigue and tinted with hope.
- Modern Maharani by Marya Siddiqui. When the outfit and jewellery come awash in a sea of colours, only the brave dare to experiment beyond nude tones. The modern princess always rises to the challenge.
- Scarlet Goddess by Soneeya Adil. The essence of regal splendour is bought to life by framing the face with the blush of a princess, offset by the majestic fire of the outfit and jewellery.
- Innocent Charm by Tayyaba Bashir. Purity and chastity are embodied here to reveal a bride who is both worldly wise and ethereal, sublimely blending the lines between earthly cultures and dimensions.
- Coy Temptress by Jaswinder Soor. This coquettish bride may seem demure in grace and poise, but her eyes reveal that behind it all, she is anything but a shrinking violet.
- Rustic Diva by Amna Mannan. The innocence of the village beauty combined with the allure of the lady of the manor gives this bride that irresistible modern twist to a traditional look.
